Is here. It deals with the squelching of free speech. Very well written. There was a time, a happy time, long, looooong ago, when I thought the ACLU existed to protect me from this type of thing. Hell, maybe then that really was there function. Nowadays they're too busy defending pedophiles, I suppose.

Let me try to backtrack/clarify (Eason Jordan style). I didn't think the ACLU would not be against this bill. Back in the day, though, the ACLU had the clout, the legitimacy to stop this kind of thing. And I felt safe, knowing the ACLU existed and was on the case. I think that, by choosing to champion too many kook causes, the ACLU has lost its ability to stop bills like the first McCain-Feingold. And because the ACLU has traditionally filled this role, there is no other organization that can take up the slack.
